Real Madrid announced the signing of Kylian Mbappe days after a record-extending 15th Champions League win.
The transfer saga surrounding Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe is finally over, as Los Blancos put out an official statement to confirm the signing of the France international.
Mbappe, 25, has been on Real Madrid's radar since he was a teenager. He came close to joining the 15-time Champions League winners two seasons ago after reaching a verbal agreement, but he reneged, opting to stay at Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe reveals date and time of Real Madrid unveiling
The Mbappe to Real Madrid saga is finally set to come to a conclusion
He signed a two-year contract with the Parisians at the time, suggesting he still dreamt of playing for Los Merengues; now, after two seasons were added to this drawn-out saga, he is finally a Real Madrid player.
Club statement
Mbappe joining Real Madrid was one of the worst-kept secrets in world football, down to the time and date he was set to be announced. Los Blancos have now ended all rumours and speculations as they put out an official statement confirming the transfer. They confirmed he signed a five-year contract, which will keep him at the club until 2029.
“Real Madrid CF and Kylian Mbappé have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons,” they said, via the club’s official channels.
A more elaborate unveiling will reportedly be set for a later date, as Mbappe is currently in France camp ahead of the European Championships.
Mbappe jersey number
Like his idol Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappe will have to wear an alternate jersey number, as his preferred kit is already occupied by a member of the squad.
Mbappe reportedly wants the #10, which is currently owned by Luka Modric. Le Parisien reports that the forward will wear the No. 9 jersey first, pending the time the Croatian—who has recently agreed to a contract extension—leaves the club.
