After kicking off the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a win over Benin, the Super Eagles will travel to face Rwanda on Tuesday in round two. Here are predictions, team news, betting tips, and possible line-ups for the game.

Nigeria picked up a convincing 3-0 win over the Cheetahs of Benin last Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, leaving them top of their AFCON qualifying group after the first set of matches.

It was the first match under Augustine Eguaveon since he took over the head coach role on an interim basis, and he successfully masterminded how the Super Eagles put an end to a three-match winless run.

Ballon d’Or nominee Ademola Lookman put up a man of the match display as he grabbed a brace in the game, with his goals coming either side of Victor Osimhen’s half-volley

Next on the agenda for the Super Eagles is making it two wins out of two when they take on Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday, September 10 by 2pm Nigerian time.

The Wasps of Rwanda salvaged a 1-1 draw against Libya as both sides shared the spoils in round one. The East Africans went behind when Sobi Al Dawi scored Libya in the 16th minute, but Innocent Nshuti restored parity a few minutes into the second half.

This will be the sixth meeting between Nigeria and Rwanda, and the Super Eagles have never lost this fixture, winning twice and drawing three times.

This will be the third meeting between both teams in an AFCON qualifying match, with the previous meeting coming in 2012—the Super Eagles drew away and won at home.

Osimhen came off the bench to grab a goal against Benin, but the reigning African player of the year is likely to play from the start on Tuesday, replacing Victor Boniface in the XI.

AFCON 2023 player of the tournament, William Troost-Ekong, also marked his return to the Super Eagles setup with a fine display at the heart of the defence and is expected to marshal the defence once again.

Eguaveon opted for a 3-4-3 last time out, and he is likely going to stick with this after it paid off – this will see Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi as wingbacks once again.

Rwanda is expected to stick with the same lineup from their last match against Libya, with Nshuti, who was on the scoresheet, leading the line once again.

Rwanda Predicted lineup (4-2-3-1)

Ntwari (GK); Omborenga, Mutsinzi, Manzi, Niyomugabo; Rebangouka, Bizimana; Mugisha, Muhire, Kwizera; Nshuti

Nigeria Predicted lineup (3-4-3)

Nwabali (GK); Ajayi, Ekong, Bassey; Aina, Ndidi, Iwobi, Onyemaechi; Lookman, Osimhen, Chukwueze

Rwanda vs Nigeria Predictions & Betting Tips

Prior to the win against South Africa in November, Rwanda had struggled for results on home soil, which is an indication of their inability to constantly produce the goods even in front of their home fans.

Meanwhile, Nigeria head into this match with a great feeling after the win last Saturday, and they have all their stars fit and raring to go, which might be too much for Rwanda to handle.

The Super Eagles were unbeaten in three consecutive away matches prior to the loss against Benin in June.
