Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga’s APR FC edged bottom side Etoile de L’Est 1–0 in the Rwanda Premier League at Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday.

The former Vipers SC player was the captain on the day as APR stretched their unbeaten run to 23 games in the league this season.

Elie Kategaya scored in the 21st minute and his goal proved vital for the hosts to grab maximum points.

The Lions are comfortably seated at the top of the 16-team log with 55 points, 10 points ahead of second-placed Rayon Sports who are on 45 points after playing the same number of games.

Thierry Froger Christian’s charges last lost a game in September when they were thumped 6-1 by Egyptian side Pyramids in the CAF Champions League qualifiers.

The Army are well on course for their third straight league title having won it in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 campaigns.

Lwanga has recently been out of the national team but could bounce back under head coach Paul Put for the March international break.
