Ugandan Deogratious Ojok has extends his contract with Tusker FC aiming for a fit season and double-digit goals after injury struggles.

Ugandan international Deogratious Ojok has renewed his commitment to Tusker FC signing on for an extended stay with the 12-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions.

Despite facing challenges with injuries during the 2023/24 season, Ojok's performance remained impressive, tallying five goals and three assists in just 13 appearances.

His pivotal contributions included scoring both the first and last goals of the season against Bandari FC and Kakamega Homeboyz respectively.

“I am glad to have extended my contract and my hope is that I remain fit this season. I have worked so much on my physical fitness and hopefully I will score double digit goals,” Ojok told the club website.

Since joining the Brewers in August 2021 from the Uganda Premier League side BUL FC, Ojok has quickly risen to become a fan favorite and a key player for the club.

His initial two-year deal has seen him develop into an indispensable part of the team’s offensive lineup, earning him this latest vote of confidence from the club management.

Tusker has been strategically securing the futures of their core players, with Ojok being the latest to sign a new contract.

In a similar move, defender Christopher Momanyi also penned a new deal, ensuring his stay for another season.

Momanyi, who joined the club three seasons ago, has been crucial in the defensive squad.

Despite struggling with injuries in the early part of last season, he returned stronger and contributed significantly in the closing matches, scoring two key goals.

The Brewer's commitment to maintaining a strong squad is evident as they navigate through a significant transition period.

Tusker have released 11 first-team players following the expiry of their contracts, including prominent names like Eric Kapaito and Daniel Sakari.

This shake-up is part of a broader strategy to refresh both the playing and technical staff as the team embarks on a new journey.

These changes come at a time when the club is looking to build a team capable of competing at the highest level, both domestically and in continental competitions.

The retention of influential players like Ojok and Momanyi will be vital in providing the stability and experience needed as the club integrates new talents and adjusts to its evolving dynamics.
