Erik Ten Hag and his Manchester United side kicked off the INEOS era against Rosenborg in Norway.
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is not a happy man at the moment after his Red Devils kicked off the new era under INEOS with a defeat.

However, the keenly anticipated clash ended in disappointment for the Reds, who played with mostly academy players, and their fans after a late goal gave the home side a deserved 1-0 win.
Erik Ten Hag reacts to Rosenborg vs Man United
The hosts dominated proceedings from start to finish and could have won by a larger margin after missing four of five big chances created in the game, including hitting the woodwork on two occasions.
The friendly looked poised to end in a goalless draw to save United’s blushes, thanks in no small part by Rosenborg’s misses and an excellent outing by 20-year-old goalkeeper Radek Vitek, but for a late goal from Noah Helm.
It was no less than the Norwegians deserve, but Man United manager, Ten Hag, who has improved his backroom with several high-profile additions, was anything but impressed with what he saw from his Reds.
“The result is not secondary,” the Dutch manager stated according to a post by Fabrizio Romano on X.com
“Our performance as a team is by far not good enough. This is not the standard of top football. We are Man Utd, we should perform better,” he added.
Ten Hag and his Reds will now switch attention to Saturday when they take on Cyriel Dessers and Rangers in their second game of the preseason.
In a related development, despite struggles in the league and Champions League last season, Manchester United's Erik Ten Hag has been rewarded with a salary hike
Ten Hag has committed to Manchester United in a deal worth approximately £27 million (₦52 billion). This new deal will extend his tenure at the club until 2026.
The 54-year-old Dutch manager had one year remaining on his existing £9 million-a-year contract, but despite rumours that the new owners, INEOS, would let him leave, he agreed to the extension.
He was rewarded for lifting the FA Cup trophy with a contract extension and has been tasked with continuing the winning traditions that have seen him win two titles during his two years at Old Trafford.
