Ronney Onyango’s unveiling at Norwegian club Sogndal may have been a painful sight for Singida Black Stars who are still awaiting refund of what they paid for his failed transfer.

Harambee Stars full-back Ronney Onyango may have finally completed his dream move to Europe, 0 but Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars are left licking their wounds.

Onyango was unveiled at Norwegian club Sogndal Fotball, signing a two-year contract, beginning a new chapter in his career after his successful stint at Gor Mahia.

However, before the move, the defender was the subject of transfer interest from Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars who had reached an agreement over his transfer with Gor Mahia in December 2024.

The Tanzanian club is reported to have paid a fee to Gor Mahia for the right-back but the player, who was at the time on international duty at the Mapinduzi Cup, turned down the move, leaving both clubs in a difficult position.

The sum in question is believed to be $40,000 (Ksh5 million) which Singida paid to K’Ogalo and after the transfer fell through, the Tanzanian club demanded a refund while threatening to seek legal redress at FIFA.

However, since sending their demand letter to Gor Mahia in January, Singida are yet to receive their full refund and are left exploring their options, having watched the player they paid for unveiled at another club even before the season is out.

Pulse Sports understands the Kenyan champions have not fully settled the amount to Singida in what is a risky move as it could potentially land them in trouble if the aggrieved party decides to act.
