Osimhen marked his new Napoli contract with an early shower, as he got sent off in the defeat to Roma.

Victor Osimhen was one of two players sent off for Napoli in a 2-0 defeat to Jose Mourinho's AS Roma.

The Giallorossi hosted the defending champions at Stadio Olimpico, as they looked to take points off the struggling Neapolitans.

Neither team put their best foot forward, but Napoli were worse off, as their poor showing on the day was only second to their ill-discipline.

Napoli saw two red cards in the game, first in the 66th minute for Matteo Politano, and in the 86th minute, Osimhen saw yellow for the second time in the game. Roma capitalised on the numerical superiority on each turn, scoring 10 minutes after both sending-offs to win 2-0.

After a drab first-half, the game came to life after the hour mark, when Polittano was sent in for an early shower for violent conduct.

The spaces opened up for Roma and in the 76th minute, Lorenzo Pellegrini got on the end of a Stephan El Shaarawy assist to put the hosts ahead.

Victor Osimhen was first booked in the 73rd minute, and in the 86th minute, he was shown a second yellow and consequently red for a foul on El Shaarawy.

Roma piled on and in the 96th minute, Romelu Lukaku scored to remove all doubt from the result and hand the Giallorossi maximum points. The win helped Roma leap-frog Napoli on the log and move into sixth.
