Roma have been handed a boost ahead of their Feyenoord clash with Paulo Dybala set for a return
AS Roma hope that they can overturn their UEFA Europa League quarterfinal first-leg loss against Feyenoord when the Eredivisie leaders go to the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma looking to overturn Feyenoord’s first leg win
Despite a lacklustre first-leg loss, they will be hopeful of overcoming the deficit, especially as they welcome World Cup winner Paulo Dybala back from a spell on the sidelines.
Dybala could only play 26 minutes of the first leg against Feyenoord before he was taken off with adductor muscle problems and could only watch from the bleachers as Feyenoord ran out 1-0 winners.
Dybala has not played since then, but there is optimism that he could return for the second leg after he joined the rest of his Roma teammates for training ahead of the clash with Feyenoord.
Dybala key to Roma’s comeback
Roma manager Jose Mourinho suggested after the 3-0 win over Udinese in Serie A over the weekend that Dybala could be back in action soon, and he will be pleased to know that the most important player in Roma’s 2022/23 season will be available for the Europa League fixture.
Dybala has scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions for Roma and has contributed directly to more goals than any other player in the 2022/23 campaign.
Dybala has scored and assisted the most goals for Roma this season, with the next-highest goalscorer for the Giallorossi hitting only eight.
