Tanzania came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory in the final where both teams had already qualified for next year's U-20 AFCON.
Despite a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Tanzania in the U-20 AFCON-CECAFA qualifiers final at the KMC Stadium on Sunday, Rising Stars captain Amos Wanjala remains optimistic about the team’s future.
Prior to the final, Salim Babu’s charges had beaten the same Tanzanian side 2-1 in their opening match, thanks to goals from Kevin Wangaya and Andres Odhiambo.
Kenya’s U-20 side had initially taken the lead through Hassan Beja, but Tanzania mounted a comeback to claim the victory.
While they couldn't replicate that success in the final, the Rising Stars' performance throughout the tournament secured them a spot at next year’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
