The forward has been club-less since parting ways with six-time UPL champions Vipers SC towards the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

With the Venoms last season, Ndugwa won both the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup titles under former head coach Alex Isabirye.

The two had a year before clinched the 2021/22 Uganda Cup with BUL FC after beating Vipers 3-1 in the final.

Ironically, Isabirye is the head coach at Express, and a reunion with Ndugwa is imminent.

In the summer transfer window, Ndugwa was the subject of interest from Express, SC Villa and Rwanda's Rayon Sport, but none materialized.

Besides Vipers, Ndugwa has previously played for BUL FC, URA FC, Express FC, Wakiso Giants, Mbarara City FC, AFC Leopards in Kenya and Somalia's Horseed.
