The Red Devils are linked with a teenager as Ruben Amorim sets sights on Old Trafford rebuild.

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to cut their losses with Brazilian winger Antony, with the club ready to listen to offers for the player in the January transfer window.

Why Antony could leave Manchester United

The 24-year-old, who arrived from Ajax in 2022 for a hefty £81.3 million, has failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford.

Antony has struggled to make an impact, scoring just 12 goals in 61 appearances, and has faced criticism for his performances.

Sources suggest he has become a disruptive influence within the squad, with former manager Erik ten Hag reportedly questioning the Brazilian’s attitude before his departure.

Man Utd keen on Sporting teenager

According to Daily Star, United's new head coach, Ruben Amorim, has identified 17-year-old Portuguese sensation Geovany Quenda as Antony's potential replacement.

Quenda, who has impressed with Sporting Lisbon, recently received his first call-up to the Portugal senior squad.

Amorim is a known admirer of the young winger and believes he has the potential to thrive at Old Trafford.

United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly eager to get Antony's £200,000-a-week wages off the books and is willing to sanction a move for Quenda next summer after the forward recently signed with Cristiano Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes.

What next for Man Utd?

Amorim, who took charge of his first training session at Carrington on Monday, faces a challenging start to his tenure.

With many players away on international duty, he has limited time to prepare for his first match in charge, an away fixture against Ipswich Town on November 24th.
