The Red Devils are rumoured to be keen on a French-based striker to bolster attacking options.
Manchester United are reportedly ready to reignite their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, with a €70 million (£58.6 million) bid in the works for a player the Red Devils see as the solution to their persistent goalscoring woes.
Kolo Muani’s PSG struggles
Kolo Muani was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2023 after an impressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt. However, the Manchester outfit opted to sign Rasmus Hojlund instead, while the France international moved to PSG.
Despite the high expectations, the forward’s first season in Paris was challenging, as he managed just nine goals in 40 appearances, a far cry from his prolific form at Frankfurt, where he registered an impressive 26 goals and 17 assists in 50 games.
This season, the 25-year-old has found the net only twice in nine appearances for Luis Enrique's side, with his last goal dating back to September 1 against Lille.
This dip in form has cast doubt over his future under Luis Enrique at PSG, opening the door for a potential move to Manchester.
Man Utd’s Kolo Muani interest
According to Fichajes, the Ligue 1 side are willing to part ways with the 25-year-old for the right price.
Manchester United are prepared to meet their demands, with their renewed interest in Kolo Muani highlighting their ongoing search for a consistent goalscorer following Hojlund’s injury worries and Joshua Zirkzee’s average start in English football.
The French club are reportedly disappointed with his return of 11 goals in 49 appearances, considering his previous success in the Bundesliga.
Kolo Muani, who is under contract with PSG until June 2028, is believed to be open to the challenge of playing in the Premier League.
Despite his recent struggles, he has retained his place in the France national team for the upcoming October internationals against Israel and Belgium on October 10 and 14, respectively.
