The club stands to earn a staggering €7.9 million from the potential permanent transfer of youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku to the Foxes this summer.

Abdul Fatawu helps Leicester gain promotion

The talented Ghanaian winger has been on loan at Leicester City from Sporting CP, with an obligation to buy since last summer. According to reports, Leicester City will now activate a €17 million clause in Issahaku's contract after the 20-year-old helped the Foxes win the Championship and secure Premier League football for next season.

Despite initially facing a transfer embargo by the EFL stemming from profit and sustainability breaches during the 2022/23 season, Leicester City can still secure Issahaku's services on a permanent basis after winning promotion to the Premier League, since the embargo does not affect teams in England’s first division.

Steadfast FC's lucrative share in the transfer deal

Steadfast FC stands to benefit from Issahaku's potential move to Leicester City as per the reported terms of agreement between the Ghanaian club and Sporting CP.

Steadfast FC reportedly have a 50% sell on clause in place with Sporting CP, which means they will get half of the profit of Abdul Fatawau’s sale from the Portuguese club to Leicester City. With Leicester City set to complete the €17 million acquisition of Issahaku and considering that Sporting CP acquired Issahaku for €1.2 million in 2022, the value gained on the transfer amounts to a substantial €15.8 million.

This amount will be shared between Steadfast FC and Sporting CP, with each club pocketing €7.9 million from the transfer. For Steadfast FC, this influx of funds represents a significant boost, potentially paving the way for better infrastructure, player development programs, and overall growth within the club.

The Ghanaian prodigy played a pivotal role in Leicester's successful campaign, contributing six goals and 13 assists, helping the Foxes win the EFL Championship and promotion to the Premier League.
