How it happened

Philip Billing stunned the Gunners by benefiting from Dango Ouattara's low cross to open the scoring in the first minute. The second-fastest goal in Premier League history.

Arsenal had 87 percent possession and 9 corners in a dominant first half, as well as wave after wave of attacks but nothing was forthcoming.

Bournemouth defended for their lives and went close to increasing their lead but Aaron Ramsdale raced off his line to keep out Ouattara's shot.

Second half action

The second half was pretty much a continuation of the first half as Arsenal once again dominated proceedings and carved out several chances.

However, things went from bad to worse for the Gunners as Bournemouth doubled their advantage.

Marcos Senesi headed in a corner at the near post to double the Cherries' lead against the run of play.

Arsenal responded to the setback with two goals in quick succession. First, Emile Smith Rowe sent a header back towards goal, finding Thomas Partey who made no mistake.

The home side got their equaliser when Reiss Nelson found Ben White at the far post, and his shot made it over the line despite the best efforts of Neto.

Late winner for Arsenal

Bournemouth looked set to hold on for a point, only for Nelson to show up deep into stoppage time with a sweet strike to send Arsenal fans wild.
