Super Falcons icon Asisat Oshoala has criticised the officiating she witnessed during the Uruguay vs Colombia match in the Copa America semifinal.

Nigeria international and Super Falcons legend Asisat Oshoala was left shocked and appalled by the controversial refereeing that marred the high-stakes Copa America semifinal clash between Uruguay and Colombia.

The pulsating encounter saw the James Rodriguez-inspired Colombia edge out the favourites Uruguay 1-0, despite the Colombians playing the entire second half with 10 men following a red card.

Oshoala reacts to Copa America semis

Oshoala, who is set to represent Nigeria at the Paris 2024 Olympics, was one of the many football fans tuning in to watch the explosive match.

The 28-year-old NWSL star took to her social media page to vent her frustration at the officials' performance led by centre referee Cesar Arturo Ramos of Mexico.

"Guysssss...tune in to watch Uruguay vs Colombia, referee no send anybody papa oo until your leg commot before him go blow #CopaAmerica," Oshoala posted.

The match was a heated affair, with the Uruguay players clashing and fighting with Colombian fans after the final whistle, as tensions boiled over following the contentious refereeing decisions.

Colombia, who are currently on a 28-match unbeaten run, will now face Lionel Messi's Argentina in the final, leaving many football fan questioning the impact the controversial officiating had on the outcome of the semifinal clash.

Oshoala's outspoken criticism of the refereeing performance has further highlighted the growing concerns over the standard of officiating in major international tournaments, as the football world eagerly awaits the highly anticipated final showdown between Colombia and Argentina.
