Asha Djafar took over the scoring mantle from Shikangwa in the 36 minutes to seal the emphatic victory for Charles Lukula’s charges.

The win was enough to take Simba Queens to the top of the table, as they have now collected 39 points from the 16 matches played this season.

JKT Queens are second with 37 points, having won 11 and drawn four but have one game in hand.

Simba Queens and Shikangwa will next face rivals Ceasia Queens on May 17 in a venue yet to be announced.

Before the match, Shikangwa was presented with a cheque amounting to Tsh 500,000 ( equivalent to Ksh 29,000) by the Tanzania Women’s Premier League for being the best player for March.

Shikangwa secured the win following the votes cast by the coaches from the twelve clubs participating in the league.

Shikangwa has now scored 15 goals for Simba Queens in the top flight this campaign after managing ten appearances and is currently the top scorer.
