CHelsea picked Mauricio Pochettino because of his experience and track record
Chelsea Football Club officially announced the arrival of Maurucio Pochettino as head coach for the next two years.
The club’s co-sporting director Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley outlined the reasons they settled for him.
“Mauricio’s experience, standards of excellence, leadership qualities and character will serve Chelsea Football Club well as we move forward,” the director’s explained.

Mauricio Pochettino has agreed to take over Chelsea's coaching role on a two-year contract.
“He is a winning coach, who has worked at the highest levels, in multiple leagues and languages. His ethos, tactical approach and commitment to development all made him the exceptional candidate,” they added.
Experience
Pochettino, 51, started his coaching in 2009 at Spanish La Liga side before crossing to Southampton in the English Premier League in 2013.
He coached The Saints for slightly over a year before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in London.
Pochettino managed 293 games from May 2014 before being sacked in November 2019.
At Tottenham, the Argentine took them to the final of the UEFA Champions League where they lost to Liverpool.
He joined PSG in January 2021 and won the French Cup in 2021 and French Ligue 1 last season.
