Liverpool risk losing some of their biggest players on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Liverpool's Trent Alexander Arnold recently addressed his future, following the rumours surrounding his contract situation and possible exit from the club.

The 25-year-old came through the ranks at the club and is currently the vice-captain, behind Virgil Van Dijk. Although he has previously expressed his desire to retire at the club, his future might well lie away from Merseyside, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

What Trent said

The full-back along with Mohamed Salah and Van Dijk, are possibly Liverpool's three biggest stars; however, the Reds could stand to lose all three of them at the end of the season, with their contracts running out next summer.

While Salah is strongly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, there is an expectation that Van Dijk and Arnold will renew their deals.

However, the England international has now cast doubt over that supposition as he left his future open in a recent interview. Asked about a possible contract renewal, he said, “I want to win trophies.”

“I’m a player who is highly motivated by winning things and being elite. That’s probably the main factor of anything. I want to win.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly keen on landing Arnold on a free transfer this summer, and with Real Madrid's dominance in the Champions League in recent seasons, the Liverpool defender’s comments suggest he is considering his options.
