Marcus Rashford joins the list of players who have pulled out of international duty.
Marcus Rashford has pulled out of England's squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine due to injury.
The 24-year-old was part of the 25-man squad England manager Gareth Southgate named for the qualifiers, but the striker has pulled out, continuing a trend among the England squad that has also seen Mason Mount and Nick Pope exempt themselves.
Rashford pulls out of England squad
Marcus Rashford picked up a knock in Manchester United's 3-1 FA Cup triumph over Fulham on Sunday as Manchester United advanced into the semi-finals.
The striker, according to the BBC, has pulled out of England's squad for the upcoming qualifiers, and will not be joining the England squad. However, Gareth Southgate did not name a replacement for the striker.
Other players who pulled out
Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope would also not honour his call-up, as he picked up an injury in Newcastle's 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest on Friday.
The 30-year-old will be replaced by Tottenham Hotspur's Fraser Forster, who last played for England in 2016, when he made six appearances.
Mason Mount also withdrew, as confirmed by Graham Potter. The 24-year-old missed Chelsea's 2-2 draw against Everton due to injury and is currently in recovery.
A replacement for Mount was not named, and with Rashford also not replaced, the initial 25-man list is not now down to 23.
A statement on Monday by the FA confirmed this, stating that 23 players had already arrived at St George's Park.
England plays Italy on March 23rd before hosting the Ukrainian national team at the iconic Wembley Stadium on March 26.
