American-born Nigerian Balogun on target as Ghana suffers Black Wednesday in the USA
The Black Stars suffered a devastating defeat against the United States of America, with Folarin Balogun one of the scorers.
Balogun’s injury
Following Rangers' 4-1 thumping of Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership, manager Philippe Clement explained Leon Balogun's substitution at Ibrox Stadium.
Clement said, as reported by BBC, "That's why we had to take him off. No clue for the moment, we will see in the next few days what the situation is. Again, everybody is ready to step in and do a job for the team."
Goals by Fábio Silva, Ben Davies, Tom Lawrence, and John Souttar helped the Light Blues come back from behind to win.
According to Clement, the Nigerian central defender's absence from the second half was due to an injury that required a substitution.
The Belgian football manager is hoping that Balogun's injury is not too severe so he can play in the crucial match on Saturday, May 11, against Celtic, their fierce rivals.
The 35-year-old has played in eighteen games during his second stint with the Rangers, making seventeen starts.
