Scottish giants Rangers have reportedly hit a bump in the road in their bid to land Josh Maja from Bordeaux on a free transfer at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old striker's contract with the French Ligue 2 side is set to expire this summer, and Rangers were gearing up to land him for free, but their plan might not come to fruition.

The forward, who has scored 13 goals in 18 appearances this season for Bordeaux, says it's all hard work.
However, a new report from the same source reveals that there is a detail in Maja's contract that could prevent him from leaving for free.
Although the Nigeria striker is in the last year of his contract, Bordeaux reportedly have the option to trigger a one-year extension if they manage to qualify for Ligue 1.
Only the top two teams in Ligue 2 advance to the top flight, and Bordeaux are currently second, seven points behind leaders Le Havre, but are only one point ahead of third-placed Sochaux and five points ahead of Bastia in fifth, with ten games and 30 points left to fight for.

Maja for Bordeaux
The London-born striker joined Bordeaux from Sunderland in the winter transfer window of 2019 and has since gone on loan to Fulham and Stoke City, respectively.
However, he has stayed put at Bordeaux this season, helping them fight for promotion. He has scored 13 goals in all competitions for Les Girondins this season while registering four assists.
