Rampant Shabana put Kakamega Homeboyz to the sword to end four-game winless run

Shabana FC made a grand return to winning ways following a 4-1 thrashing of an on-form Kakamega Homeboyz at Gusii Stadium on Sunday.

Shabana FC ended their four-game winless run with a major statement when they hammered Kakamega Homeboyz 4-1 at in an FKF Premier League match at Gusii Stadium on Sunday.

Shabana had last won in January, going through a rough February when they managed three draws and a loss, but started March in great fashion.

Tore Bobe went ahead after 32 minutes when Elvis Osok broke the deadlock and held firm for a 1-0 lead at the break.

They had to wait until the 65th minute for the second goal which arrived courtesy of Oscar Juma who was teed up by new signing Keith Imbali.

Juma sealed his brace 10 minutes later as the Glamour Boys put the game beyond Homeboyz’s reach and six minutes from time, Brian Michira completed the rout with the fourth goal.

Henry Omollo scored the consolation for Homeboyz in injury time but it was too little too late as Shabana had done enough to secure the win.

The win leaves Shabana in sixth place on 33 points from, level with Homeboyz, who have now slipped to seventh following the big loss.

Homeboyz had been on a four-match unbeaten run, which included three wins and a draw, but met their waterloo at Gusii Stadium in what was the surprising result of the weekend.
