The program is aimed at nurturing and scouting young talents across all sports.

Newly appointed Talanta Hela sports technical committee chairlady Carol Radull is ready to burn the midnight oil in a quest to make sure the program fully benefits sportsmen.

Speaking after the unveiling of the program on Wednesday, February 15, Radull said she yearned for a time when sports would be taken seriously.

With this being a reality now, Radull promised to make sure all the athletes in the country get what they deserve.

She also described the job as a huge undertaking and the team should not take for granted the responsibility given.

"I have been given a really good team and I hope they are ready to work. This task is not going to be easy.

For the last 15 years I have been banging my head on a brick wall but I'm glad to know there is a government that is serious about sports," she said.

Radull also sounded warning shots to anyone who would want to practice malice at the expense of athletes’ plight.

The former Kiss100 radio presenter narrated how she would feel frustrated when she used to see footballers lacking basic needs including means of transport.

She noted that she would never reap funds unfaithfully as she knows how it feels to lack.

"The thing that caught me the most is the pain you see sports people go through. I want sports people to get paid and the people who support them too.

I would never be able to live with myself if I practiced such malice. My team knows that no kind of nonsense will be tolerated," Radull said.

Radull also revealed that the quality of the game in the country is the major setback.

"It's not exciting and the infrastructure is not good. I hope we shall be able to close that gap," she added.

She said what sets apart other international tournaments like the English Premier League and World Cup is their ability to create an event around the sport.

"We need to fuse sports and entertainment. This way, fans will come and corporates will also want to work with us. I have accepted this challenge," she concluded.

Meanwhile, Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba also reiterated the practice of integrity. He noted that there will be zero tolerance to corruption.
