Gor Mahia's move for Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale has been questioned by former official Sally Bolo.

Former Gor Mahia official Sally Bolo has expressed her discontent regarding the club’s potential signing of Ugandan forward Charles Bbaale.

Reports indicate that the striker arrived in Kenya on Monday, ahead of a potential move to the FKF Premier League (FKFPL) champions.

Gor Mahia has been actively seeking to strengthen its squad, particularly in the striking department.

However, Bolo has voiced strong opposition to the move, questioning the club’s decision to pursue Bbaale, who has struggled for form in recent times.

“The current Gor Mahia office MUST ensure that any foreign player brought into the team is a current starter for their national team. We are fed up with average players!" Bolo asserted in a post.

"Gor Mahia has the resources to secure top-quality national team players. We cannot downgrade from legends like Aucho, Tuiyenge, Walusimbi, Baba Kizito, Sibomana, Kagere, Karim, etc., to players like Akena, Bendeka, and Kaddu. This mediocrity will not be tolerated."

Bolo further criticized the club’s reported interest in Bbaale, pointing out his underwhelming performance at Rayon Sports.

"Now we are reading that Gor Mahia is eyeing Charles Bbaale, a striker with just two goals for Rayon Sports and a season spent mostly in Kampala instead of playing in Kigali. Why sign a player let go for poor performance?" she added.

"This time, we won’t allow it, even if it means taking action at the training ground to send these so-called average players packing! OGOI Group, be ready for the relay."

Bbaale joined Rwandan side Rayon Sports at the start of the 2023 season after an impressive stint with SC Villa in the Uganda Premier League.

He played a crucial role in Rayon’s 2023 FERWAFA Super Cup victory, scoring a key goal in their 3-0 triumph over APR FC.

However, his current season has been challenging, with limited playing time and just two league goals to his name.

Despite these concerns, Gor Mahia remains interested in the Ugandan forward, believing he could be the solution to their striking woes.

The club currently sits third on the FKF Premier League table with 28 points, trailing joint leaders Kenya Police and Tusker, who both have 36 points, with Kenya Police ahead on goal difference.

It remains to be seen if a deal will materialize as Gor Mahia push to reclaim their top spot and challenge for the title in the second half of the season.
