Paris Saint-Germain have decided to reintegrate Kylian Mbappe into the first team after a disappointing start to the new season
Reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain have reportedly reintegrated castigated forward Kylian Mbappe after suffering a poor start to the 2023/24 Ligue 1 season.
PSG bring Mbappe back into first team
Mbappe has been embroiled in a bitter transfer saga with the club after insisting that he would not renew his contract with the PSG and would not leave the club this summer, forcing Les Parisiens to lose him for free in 2024.
The star forward was subsequently frozen out of PSG’s opening Ligue 1 fixture alongside other outcasts Neymar and Marco Verratti as the club tried to force all three players into moving this summer.
However, after struggling to a 0-0 draw against Lorient, PSG have decided to bring Mbappe back into the fold despite the player not changing his stance on leaving on a free transfer next season.
PSG cede ground in Mbappe saga
In a club statement, PSG announced that Mbappe will be re-integrated into the first team after what they described as positive constructive talks with the forward.
The statement read, “Following very constructive, positive talks between PSG and Kylian Mbappé before game vs Lorient, the player has been reinstated into first team training squad this morning.”
Mbappe had not trained with the first team squad after being left out PSG’s preseason tour of Japan and being forced to train with the reserves.
