The three sides are set to continue their battle in the Bundesliga title race as we approach another gameweek.
One of Bayern Munich, Union Berlin or Borussia Dortmund will finish as Bundesliga leaders following the conclusion of matchday 21.
Matchday 20 saw Bayern retain their lead at the top after beating VFL Bochum 3-0. However, Union stayed hot on their heels after a stunning 2-1 win at RB Leipzig.
Meanwhile, Dortmund dragged themselves back into the title race after securing yet another victory following a 2-0 win over Werder Bremen.
Bayern are likely to keep their top spot but what does matchday 21 has in store for us?
Augsburg vs Hoffenheim
Augsburg will kick off matchday 21 when they host Hoffenheim which promises to be an interesting battle.
Both teams are sitting in the bottom half of the table, with just two points separating them. Augsburg could put some touching distance between themselves and the relegation zone with a win tonight.
Meanwhile, Hoffenheim can go above their hosts if they pick up just their sixth win of the season.
Both teams come into the match on the back of 3-1 losses to Mainz and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively.
Hoffenheim are the slight favourites, though, as they have won all six of their last away games against Augsburg in all competitions.
Borussia Monchengladbach vs Bayern Munich
On Saturday, Bayern Munich could go four points clear of their nearest when they travel to Borussia-Park to take on Monchengladbach.
Bayern seem to have picked up form after starting the year with three straight draws. The Bavaria giants have now their last two league games while they also beat Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash at Parc des Princes.
Meanwhile, Monchengladbach are on a poor run of form with just four points from their last five matches.
They suffered an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to 16th-placed Hertha Berlin last week. It does not
look like their misery will end this week, though, as Bayern are unbeaten in their last 13 league games.
Borussia Dortmund vs Hertha Berlin
Dortmund have been arguably the best team in the Bundesliga in 2023. The Black and Yellow have a 100% record so far this year, with five wins on the bounce.
They are also unbeaten in the DFB Pokal Cup while they recently beat Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash.
Edin Terzić’s men were initially not in the title race coming into the new year, but they have dragged themselves back into it thanks to a good run of form and Bayern’s drop.
They will feel confident in their chances of seeing off the challenge of Hertha Berlin this weekend. Hertha have struggled for most parts of the season but they come into this game following a 4-1 win over Monchengladbach.
However, Dortmund may be too much for them as they have lost seven of their last eight games to them in all competitions.
Union Berlin vs Schalke 04
Like Dortmund, Union have also won all of their league games this year. The Iron Ones are currently flying high and mounting another unlikely title challenge, thanks to their coach Urs Fischer.
Depending on what happens on Saturday, Union Berlin could go top if they beat Schalke at Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
That should not be a problem for the home team as they face the league’s bottom side at home.
Schalke have just two wins all season and have not won in the league since November 9.
Other games taking place this week will see VFB Stuttgart against FC Cologne while RB Leipzig will hope to bounce back from last week’s defeat when they take on Wolfsburg.
VFL Bochum welcome Freigburg as Eintracht Frankfurt take on Werder Bremen on the same day.
Matchday 21 ends with Leverkusen’s clash against Mainz.
