Barcelona host Sevilla, while Real Madrid face a tricky tip to Mallorca in this round of LaLiga fixtures.
LaLiga action resumes this weekend after the four teams that missed round 17 due to the Supercopa de Espana played their catch-up games in midweek.
The headliner for this game week is the Sunday night fixture between Barcelona and Sevilla. The Blaugrana face a complicated fixture against Sevilla, who are rediscovering their form.
Real Madrid face a difficult trip away to Son Moix, while Atletico Madrid host Getafe.
Friday night football.
This round of LaLiga action starts off on Friday night with 9th-place Athletic Club hosting 18th-place Cadiz at the San Mames.
Ernesto Valverde's side would be looking to come out of a rut after losing their last three LaLiga games, while Cadiz would try to get their first back-to-back win of the season.
Saturday’s action
Espanyol and Osasuna would both like to win after losing their previous game. Elche would try to win their first game of the season against Villarreal at the Ceramica.
On Saturday evening, Diego Simeone's men will face 19th-placed Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano.
The Rojiblancos are enjoying their best form of the season and would be looking forward to picking up their third win of the season against a Getafe side who have lost their last four league games.
Real Betis would look to get back to winning ways after losing their outstanding fixture to league leaders Barcelona.
They host Celta Vigo who beat them in the first game of the season at the Benito Villamarin.
Barcelona vs Sevilla headline Sunday thrillers
Real Madrid go away to Mallorca in the 2 pm after-church fixture on Sunday.
Carlo Ancelotti's men would look to put pressure on Barcelona who play later at night, by cutting the Blaugrana's lead to only two points.
Mallorca have alternated between wins and losses in their last five league games, and after losing their last game, they would try for a win against a Real Madrid team they last beat in 2019.
Girona would host Valencia who play their second game after sacking Gattuso, while third-placed Real Sociedad host a Real Valladolid side with four losses in their last five league games before the thriller between Barcelona and Sevilla.
Xavi Hernandez's side could go into the game with only a two-point lead ahead of Real Madrid who play earlier on Sunday.
For a game against two of the biggest sides in LaLiga, Barcelona have dominated the tie, winning four of the last five of this fixture.
Sevilla have seen their form turn around since earlier season misfortunes that saw them languish in the relegation places. The Seville-based club have won their last two games, and would now face a Barcelona side who beat their neighbours in the middle of the week.
Monday night football
Rayo Vallecano and Almeria face off for the last fixture this game week on Monday night.
Andoni Iraola’s men are going into the game off the back of an away win against Villarreal, while Almeria would also fancy their chances, after beating Espanyol last week.
