Aribo is one of the top earners at Premier League club Southampton despite joining the side this season.
Super Eagles star Joe Aribo earns significantly more than Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu at Southampton.
Aribo joined Southampton from Rangers in the summer for £7m, with the figure likely to rise to £10m. Meanwhile, Salisu joined the Saints from Real Valladolid for£10m in 2020.
Aribo is Southampton's third-highest earner
However, despite Aribo arriving two years after Salisu joined the Saints, the Super Eagles star earns more than the Ghanaian defender.
According to the Daily Mail, Aribo is one of Southampton’s top three earners, with the Super Eagles star sitting in third place behind James Ward-Prowse and Theo Walcott.
Aribo currently earns £70,000 a week at St Mary’s, which is the third-highest behind Walcott (£75,000) and Ward-Prowse (£110,000).
The 25-year-old’s wages also make him one of Nigeria’s earning players in the Premier League.
However, Aribo is yet to justify his wages at St Mary’s as he has struggled in his first year in the Premier League.
Aribo's struggles in the Premier League
Aribo has made 20 league appearances for the Saints, but he was in the starting lineup in 12 of the games.
