Mukasa remains the all-time scorer in the Uganda Premier League after scoring a whopping 72 goals in the 1999 and 2000 seasons, respectively.

When Andrew ‘Fimbo’ Mukasa speaks about goals, you have no option but to listen.

The former Uganda Cranes and Sports Club Villa striker is concerned with the quality of the strikers produced in the Uganda Premier League and the Uganda Cranes.

Mukasa wonders why payers from the current generation fail to do what he calls “an easy job”.

“I want the boys to play football [to higher levels], but [the main problem] is that we no longer see enough goals and I don’t know why,” he expressed his concern while on a tour with Salt TV to Kyanja High School.

Mukasa is the brand ambassador of the school.

Easy job

Mukasa remains the all-time scorer in the Uganda Premier League after scoring a whopping 72 goals in the 1999 and 2000 seasons, respectively.

He wonders how strikers failed to burst the nets in a better environment than he was playing in.

“Personally, I feel it is something very easy, but the strikers aren’t scoring the goals; Uganda Cranes plays, but you don’t see goals, the same in the league.

Winner

The former striker is remembered for his goals that guided SC Villa to the League title in 1999 and the double in 2000 under coach Paul Hasule.

He is disturbed that even his beloved club failed to score two goals against URA FC that could’ve seen them win the title on the last day.

“I watched SC Villa at Wanukulukuku where they needed just two goals [to win the league], but instead, they were the ones who conceded. So, I don’t understand how football became very hard [to play]
