Sergio Traguil Moniz Daniel, KCCA FC's head coach, is undeniably experiencing his most challenging league start as a club's coach.
The Portuguese strategist has witnessed his team suffer defeats in their first three league matches and also miss out on qualifying for the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup due to a 5-4 aggregate loss against Libyan outfit Abu Salim.
In the wake of KCCA FC's 2-1 setback against city rivals Express FC, Traguil candidly addressed various issues plaguing his team during a post-match media session. He specifically pointed out that the team's defensive transition is lacking.
"Our vulnerability in defence, especially with easily preventable goals, is a self-inflicted problem,” an evidently frustrated Sergio remarked.
“Our defence must intensify its focus on our defensive transitions. At the moment, we are susceptible to any team, be it from corners or counterattacks," he added.
Despite the club's storied success, having clinched the championship thirteen times, they've leaked ten goals in recent competitions
Sergio has rotated between goalkeepers Mutebi Juma, Anthony Emojong, and veteran Derrick Ochan.
In a surprising revelation, the former Singida Fountain Gate coach emphasized the need for a skilled shot-stopper and also touched upon the team's internal conflicts which have adversely impacted their performance.
"I clearly need a talented goalkeeper. The manner in which we have let goals in speaks volumes, and I think the matches bear testimony to that. So, I won't delve further into it," Sergio stated.
"A lack of cohesion is a significant issue here. Despite our efforts to address it, on-pitch communication remains a challenge," he added.
Looking ahead, the Kasasiro Boys are slated to take on Kitara FC away. Yet, after the international pause, Sergio is adamant about rectifying the errors.
"Defeats are collective, and enduring three consecutive losses for the first time in my career is undeniably challenging.”

FOOTBALL 'I will go' - KCCA head coach Sergio Traguil declares exit plan
KCCA FC head coach Sergio Daniel Moniz Traguil has underlined he will leave the club the moment he casts doubt in his ability to turn the unpleasant results into victories.
“However, we will capitalize on the break to make amends. I remain steadfast in my approach, irrespective of the circumstances.”
"The moment I sense I'm no longer contributing positively to the club, I'll make the decision to depart,” he added.
The forthcoming 10-day hiatus before the league's resumption is a breather KCCA FC eagerly anticipates, aiming to rejuvenate and, ideally, turn the tide against the high-flying Kitara FC.
