How former Gor Mahia attacking midfielder Peter Oudu guides youth on career and faith.

In the Eastlands part of Nairobi, where football legends are born and dreams come to life, a different kind of champion stands tall.

Meet Peter Oudu, a name that echoes through the streets, not only for his skills on the football field but for his unwavering faith and dedication to serving others.

In the world of local league football, it is not uncommon to find players juggling side hustles off the field. But Peter Oudu's story is unique.

Beyond being a former Gor Mahia attacking midfielder, he is a devout Praise and Worship leader at the Blessed Live Centre, a local church in Nairobi.

When he's not training or playing, Oudu dedicates himself to guiding and advising the youth on matters of career and faith.

Born and raised in Homa Bay, Oudu's passion for football  and music were evident from a young age.

As he grew older, his dreams took shape, and he found himself playing for one of Kenya's finest teams – Gor Mahia.

But Oudu knows that his journey to success was not solely his doing; he attributes his accomplishments to a higher power.

"If it was not God, I don't know if I could have gone this far, but He blessed me to play for one of the best teams in Kenya, which everyone dreams of," Oudu humbly shared on Citizen TV.

His faith remains a guiding force, propelling him to excel both on and off the pitch. Despite facing challenges, Oudu's resolve and commitment never wavered.

Injuries are an inevitable part of an athlete's life, and Oudu experienced this firsthand during a game against FC Talanta in April.

However, Oudu's fighting spirit and unyielding determination saw him make a triumphant return to the game, rising above adversity to lift the 2022/2023 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title with Gor Mahia.

Recently, Oudu made a significant transition in his soccer career by joining Posta Rangers after parting ways with K’Ogalo.

Three fruitful seasons with his former club had come to an end, and a new chapter was beginning.

Being a praise and worship leader comes with its own set of challenges, especially when it coincides with match schedules. Oudu revealed that on Sundays when the team has a game, he has to miss the church service.

Nevertheless, his commitment to his faith remains unshaken, and he ensures to attend the service before heading to the stadium to cheer on his team whenever he is not on the match list.

"I come to church first, and then in the afternoon, I prepare and go to watch the game," Oudu shared.

At the Blessed Live Centre, Oudu embraces the responsibility of guiding the next generation of talent both in football and in life.

Through his own experiences, he instills in them the importance of pursuing dreams with unwavering determination and placing faith at the core of their endeavors.

"I want the youth to know that with hard work, dedication, and faith, they can achieve greatness in their chosen paths. Whether it's on the football field or in any other field they feel called to, the key is to never give up and trust in God's plan," he passionately expressed.
