Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi scores his first league goal of the season after Peseiro's snub.
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has finally opened his league account for the season, scoring for Nice in their 2-0 victory over Strasbourg.
The Nigerian national team coach Jose Peseiro recently released the names of players called up for the coming international break, and Moffi, who is somewhat of a regular, was a conspicuous omission.
The former Lorient striker will hope his second-half strike to help Le Gym seal their victory at the Allianz Riviera is the start of a return to top form in front of goal.
How it happened
Nice have been in a rut, drawing all three league games so far before today. In a bid to get their first victory of the campaign, they faced the high-flying newly-promoted Strasbourg.
The hosts started brilliantly, spurning chance after chance but failing to get the well-deserved go-ahead goal. They were rewarded for their industry soon, however, when Dante found Youcef Atal in first-half stoppage time. The Algerian wideman, in turn, finished past Matz Sels.

Nice were less adventurous at the start of the second 45', with a goal in hand, but their visitors failed to take initiative.
The hosts soon played their way back into dominance, and their Nigerian striker, Moffi, soon put an assured feel to the lead, scoring in the 75th minute while assisted by Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo.
The second goal seemed to spark something in Strasbourg and urged them into their best spell of the game, but despite their best efforts, they failed to find the equaliser.
The match ended 2-0, and Francesco Farioli's side won their first match of the season.
