Mbappe’s successful penalty not only secured the win but also cemented Real Madrid’s place in LaLiga history. With this spot-kick, Real Madrid became the first team in the 21st century to score five penalty goals in their first six LaLiga matches of any campaign.
Los Blancos have converted from the spot against Las Palmas, Real Betis, Real Sociedad, and Espanyol, putting them firmly in the history books once again.
Mbappe also made his own mark, becoming only the second Real Madrid player to score from the penalty spot in three consecutive LaLiga matches in the 21st century, following in the footsteps of Karim Benzema, who achieved the same feat in 2022.
