Luton Town midfielder Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu has made history by becoming the first player ever to stay with the same club and gain promotion from non-league football through the ranks and all the way to the Premier League.
With Karim Benzema and Vinicius Jr unavailable, Real Madrid knew they had to rely on Rodrygo for their attacking firepower as Carlo Ancelotti refused to show any faith in Eden Hazard.
Luton Town gain Premier League promotion
After a 1-1 draw in normal time, Luton triumphed 6-5 in the penalty shootout to pull off their fourth promotion in nine years and guarantee a place in the Premier League for the first time ever.
Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu makes history
One of their star performers and probably the club's most beloved player, Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu will now become the first player ever to stick with one club from non-league football to the Premier League.
The midfielder has played 363 times for the club in total and scored 23 goals, with four seasons in League Two and the Championship and one in each of the National League and League One.
