Africans have been thrown into a celebratory mood following Morocco's win over Iraq to make another step towards ultimate Olympic glory.

Morocco and Iraq locked horns in the round 3 of the Olympic men's football group stage at the Allianz Riviera Stadium in Nice.

Morocco came into this match from a shock loss to Ukraine after producing one of the Olympic highlights when they beat Argentina.

Iraq had defeated Ukraine in their first round before suffering a 3-1 loss to Argentina.

Morocco as expected were on top early in the first half after scoring through Richardson who was on the end or Hakimi's assist.

Less that 10 minutes later Morocco was on the score line again this time though Rahimi. He pounced on a renounce to capitalize on Iraq's sloppy defence.

Again, at the 36th minute, Adbe Ezzalzouli lashed the ball from outside the box with incredible power and the ball flew into the top right corner.

Iraq's attempts at goal were all smothered showing how much determined the Moroccan team was after the Ukraine game.

In the group, Morocco sit at the top of the table level on points and goal difference with Argentina but little matter to that as both teams will progress to the knockout stages.

Argentina took on Ukraine and beat them 2-0. Goals from Almada and Echeverri in the second half were enough to send Ukraine home.

Morocco and Argentina will march on to the next stage of the Olympic games as Ukraine and Iraq pack and head home.
