AFC Leopards' new signing Ovella Ochieng has vowed to ensure he returns Ingwe to the top of Kenyan football after seeing the club enjoy a fine start.

AFC Leopards winger Ovella Ochieng is keen to end Gor Mahia and Tusker FC's dominance by winning the Kenya Premier League title with the 12-time champions.

Ingwe last won the title in 1998 and glory has eluded the team for the last 26 years.

Ochieng, making his debut in the 2-1 victory against City Stars, Sunday, said he's still working on his fitness and there's more to come from him.

"It's long since AFC [Leopards] won a cup and I want to end that title drought. I came to AFC to win titles. I was impressed with the project once the coach approached me, it was an easy decision to make," Ochieng said.

"I'm still working to regain my fitness and the best is yet to come from me," he added.

Ochieng challenged supporters to rally behind the team irrespective of the situation.

"To our fans, keep supporting us no matter what".

Ingwe are second on the log with nine points from four matches after losing once.

Leopards started their season with a convincing 4-0 win against Mathare United on August 25 before losing 1-0 to Posta Rangers.

The Thomas Trucha-coached side then edged out Bidco 1-0 prior to last weekend's victory.
