Victor Osimhen has won Serie A goal of the month for January thanks to his stunning strike against Roma
Serie A has announced Victor Osimhen’s incredible strike against Roma as the goal of the month for January 2023.
The Super Eagles talisman contributed to 2-1 win against Roma at the Diego Maradona Stadium by scoring the game opener in spectacular fashion.
The goal was his 14th of a superb Serie A season so far for Osimhen in 16 league games, making him the highest scorer in the league.
Victor Osimhen wins goal of the month
The official Serie A Twitter handle posted that Oismhen's goal has been voted as the best goal scored in the Italian top flight last month.
Osimhen's memorable goal came in the 17th minute when he was found in the box by teammate Kvicha Kvaratskheila's good cross.
The Nigerian took full advantage of the delivery, controlling the ball first with his chest, setting it down with his knee after which he unleashed a fierce shot past the helpless Roma goalkeeper to give his team the lead.

That goal was Osimhen's fifth in January capping off a superb month in which he has been nominated for player of the month as well.
The 24-year-old Nigerian is currently enjoying his best ever season and has been a key part for Napoli who sit top of Serie A 13 points clear of the chasing pack.
