The game started with much intensity from Bologna who utilised the opportunity to score two early goals in the space of three minutes.
The first goal was scored in the 9th minute when Dan Ndoye headed the ball inside the left post after a splendid cross.
Shortly after, they scored the second goal after Riccardo Calafiori got up well from the corner and headed the ball into the six-yard box where Stefan Posch glanced a header into the net.

However, Matteo Politano failed to beat the goalkeeper from the penalty spot. Federico Ravaglia anticipated his intention perfectly and dived to stop his effort with the away side taking a 2-0 lead into the break.
The second half started with much intensity from the home side but were unable to break down the Bologna defence.
They struggled all through the second half and failed to convert the few chances presented to them till the full-time whistle was blown.
