Booma's Denis Omedi has etched his name in the books of history as the finest striker in the history of the StarTimes FUFA Big League after scoring a record-breaking record of goals for a striker in a single season.
The Lang'o Province striker, attached to the Uganda Prisons Service, calmly converted from the spot with a dozen minutes to go as Booma edged Kyetume 1-0.
The goal meant Omedi went one more than Edrisa Lubega's tally of 19 scored as his Proline bounced back to the topflight in the 2015/16 season.
The win restored Booma to fifth place with 34 points, leapfrogging Calvary, who lost 2-0 away to Luweero United.
Promotion twists
At the top, things become thicker for the contenders after Mbarara City moved back to the top, pushing Kitara down with a slim 1-0 victory over Ndejje University at the Kakyeka Stadium.
Henry Kitegenyi scored his 16th goal of the season as the Ankole Lions completed a double over the students.
Kitara hosts Police on Friday to determine how the top three will look after matchday 23.
Relegation battle
In Adjumani, a late goal denied National Enterprise Corporation a hard-fought win and a chance to go level with Kitara.
The draw left Adjumani wallowing in the relegation zone on a day their fellow newcomers picked important victories to boost their survival chances.
Simon Peter Odeke and Joseph Opio scored against Kataka to lift Soroti City to a point below the red line. Kataka, on the other side, dropped back into the relegation zone.
Luweero united's 2-0 win over Calvary lifted them above the unwanted territory to 10th with 28 points.
