Bristol City star Zak Vyner was among those included in the final 25-man Harambee Stars squad set to travel to Malawi on Sunday for their matches against Ivory Coast and Burundi.

Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat unveiled his final squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast, featuring notable inclusions and omissions.

Headlining the squad are regulars Joseph 'Crouch' Okumu and Erick 'Marcelo' Ouma, who have been included despite initial injury concerns, alongside Bristol City defender Zak Vyner.

Australia-based forward Bruce Kamau and England-based winger Adam Wilson were notable absentees, having not made the cut for the final team.

Other significant omissions include Ihefu striker Elvis Rupia, former Gor Mahia player Amos Nondi, Murang'a Seal goalkeeper Bonifas Munyasa, Kenya Police centerback Brian Okoth, and AFC Leopards youngster Kaycie Odhiambo.

In contrast, Germany-based defender Tobias Knost has made it into the final squad, joining Okumu, Ouma, and Vyner in the defensive lineup.

Okumu and Ouma, both integral parts of the national team setup, were initially doubtful due to injuries but have since recovered and are set to contribute their experience and skill to the crucial matches.

Sweden-based Timothy Ouma, who initially missed out on the provisional squad, has also been called up and will join the team in Malawi.

The Harambee Stars are set to embark on their qualifying campaign with a match against Burundi on June 7, followed by a clash with Ivory Coast four days later.

The team's focus will be on leveraging the experience and talent of key players like Okumu, Ouma, and Vyner to secure positive results.

With the backing of the entire nation and the guidance of head coach Engin Firat, the Harambee Stars aim to make a strong start in their quest for World Cup qualification.
