Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat has named his starting line up that will be facing Cameroon in the first leg of their double-header of the ongoing AFCON 2025 qualifiers taking taking place in Yaounde, Cameroon from 7:00 PM EAT.
Firat has reinstated Patrick Matasi, Michael Olunga, Daniel Anyembe and Timothy Ouma, with the latter three back having missed the previous window against Zimbabwe and Namibia for contrasting reasons.
Joseph Okumu will start from the bench as he continues his recovery from an adductor issue that has kept him sidelined for three weeks for his club Reims.
Meanwhile, Gor Mahia defender Sylvester Owino maintains his place as the left sided center back, with Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma playing left back. Amos Nondi will start at right back, with Anyembe playing as a center back.
Teddy Akumu and Richard Odada start as the double pivot, with Ronney Onyango playing at right wing. Duke Abuya will start behind Odada in that number 10 role.
Meanwhile, Cameroon have also named a strong line up to face Kenya. Vincent Aboubakar will captain the side upfront, with Bryan Mbeumo on the right wing.
Manchester United keeper Andre Onana is starting in goal for the Indomitable Lions . Jackson Tchatchoua, Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui, Christopher Wooh and Nouhou Tolo complete the back line.
Carlos Noom Quomah Baleba, Martin Hongla,André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Cristian Basogog will be the midfielders.
