A goal in each half through Andrea Pinamonti and an own goal from Lautaro Giannetti was all Genoa needed to claim a comfortable 2-0 win away to Udinese after the hosts were reduced to 10 men following the sending off of Souleymane Isaak Toure after only four minutes.

The loss to Genoa leaves Udinese in ninth place after 14 weeks of Serie A, with only 17 points despite their impressive start to the season.

It was also Udinese's fifth game in a row without a win, with four defeats and one draw since the end of November, leaving their hopes of making it to the European places in jeopardy.

Okoye suffers disappointing loss

The match was especially sour for Nigerian goalkeeper Okoye, who did his best to keep his side in the game with three saves but was unable to add to his three clean sheets this season.

Okoye was beaten twice, first by an unstoppable effort from Pinamonti, before his own player unfortunately put past him to double Genoa's advantage.

Prior to the match, the Super Eagles second-choice goalkeeper had been heralded as one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A after saving Udinese countless times and making the most saves from inside the penalty area in the Italian top flight.
