It was already stated in rumours that Mbappe had communicated his decision not to sign a new contract to the Paris Saint-Germain hierarchy, and the France national team captain has confirmed his decision to the public and fans. Mbappe
Mbappe released a heartfelt video on his X account, announcing his decision to leave PSG, while thanking fans of the Paris club for their support over the years.
Mbappe's PSG career
Mbappe joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 from Monaco after a stellar breakthrough as a teenager in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League.
He scored 26 goals in 44 appearances during his breakthrough season with Monaco before joining PSG, first on loan, and then in a €180 million deal making him the most expensive teenager in football history.
Mbappe repaid PSG's faith in him, helping Les Parisiens to six Ligue 1 titles during his seven years at the club, claiming the top scorer award in all but one campaign with the record-champions.
The French striker has also become PSG's record goalscorer in Ligue 1 and all competitions in seven short years, scoring 255 goals in 306 appearances so far.
Mbappe also hinted at his next club destination, revealing that he would be leaving his native France for the first time in his career, with many believing this to be a confirmation of a move to LaLiga giants Real Madrid this summer as has been rumoured for months since it became apparent that the French striker would be leaving PSG.
