Liverpool have completed the signing of Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.
Mac Allister's arrival marks the beginning of Jürgen Klopp’s summer rebuild and comes at a significantly lower price than initially reported, only costing Liverpool a reported £35m.
Mac Allister is a Red!
Klopp had been vocal about Liverpool’s need to strengthen the squad this summer, especially in the midfield department and Mac Allister represents excellent business by the Anfield club.
The 24-year-old signed a new contract at Brighton before last year's World Cup, which he went on to win with Argentina, and it is believed that the contract had an exit clause which Liverpool have now triggered.
He had a fine season for Brighton, scoring 10 times in the league to propel the Seagulls to sixth place and a spot in next year's Europa League.
