FKF has officially unveiled the electoral board formed adopted during their special general meeting that will conduct the presidential elections ahead of the next Presidential elections.

Football Kenya Federation has officially unveiled the electoral board that will conduct the next presidential elections which are set to take place in mid-December

The five-member board, which was adopted in line with the Special General Meeting that was conducted by the federation last August that served as the basis to set guidelines for the next elections, will be chaired by Hesbon Owila, a university professor and a media and communications practitioner.

Lawyer Marceline Sande will serve as the Secretary, while former AFC Leopards Chairman Dan Mule,  Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) president James Waindi and Alfred Ng'ang'a complete the matrix.

“The task we have before us is demanding. We must ensure that the process is safeguarded against any potential disruptions. We have taken precautions to avoid situations where the board is unable to function due to insufficient membership,” said Owila. He emphasized the board’s commitment to delivering "free, fair, transparent, and credible elections."

In the event of any board member stepping down, standby members will be available to ensure the election process remains unaffected. Owila added, "We hope everything goes as planned, but the standby members will be there if the board falls short of the required membership."

Within three days, the board is expected to publish the election roadmap on the FKF website, providing a clear breakdown of the upcoming events and deadlines.

The board will operate from FKF’s headquarters at Kandanda House, with Owila noting that they have been granted a section of the building to maintain an independent and neutral environment for the election process. "We will be seated there with a very independent team that will help us conduct these elections," he said.

Owila concluded by projecting that the elections at all levels would be completed by mid-December, with the new National Executive Committee (NEC) expected to be in place before December 15th.
