FKF have announced when the next Harambee Stars manager will be unveiled.

Kenya's national football team, Harambee Stars, is set to usher in a new era under the leadership of South African tactician Benni McCarthy.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed that the official unveiling will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025.

While details of his full technical team remain under wraps, sources indicate that McCarthy will bring in an assistant coach alongside former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs, who will take up the role of goalkeeper trainer.

Additionally, Nicholas Muyoti—formerly in charge of Nairobi City Stars—is expected to join the backroom staff as a local assistant coach.

The appointment of McCarthy, South Africa’s all-time leading goal scorer with 31 international goals, has generated immense anticipation.

The 46-year-old remains the only South African to have lifted the UEFA Champions League, achieving the feat in 2004 with Porto under the guidance of José Mourinho.

McCarthy most recently worked as a first-team coach at Manchester United, where he was credited with sharpening the attacking instincts of key players.

His managerial résumé also includes a successful stint at AmaZulu, where he led the club to a historic second-place finish in South Africa’s top flight during the 2020/21 season.

With crucial assignments ahead—including the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) and the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which Kenya will co-host alongside Tanzania and Uganda—McCarthy’s arrival is seen as a pivotal moment for Kenyan football.

As fans eagerly await his unveiling, all eyes will be on the South African tactician to see how he plans to transform Harambee Stars into a competitive force on the continental stage.
