There were 17 goals scored in nine (9) matches across the country, with Rivers United and Bayelsa United the only teams not involved.

Plateau United were the ultimate entertainers of the mid-week following a five-goal thriller in Jos as Group A remains the group to be.

Here are the stars of the week, featuring those players/teams who entertained and excited NPFL fans in mid-week.

Emeka Obioma, Enyimba International

Enyimba International made it three wins in the last three matches in the NPFL thanks to their super forward, Emeka Obioma.

Emeka Obioma has scored seven goals in eight games this season in the NPFL.

Obioma scored two first-half goals to lead the People's Elephant to a routine 2-0 win over Shooting Stars in Abia.

The forward, who is now the top scorer in the league with seven goals, ensured it was a sad return to Aba for former Enyimba boss, Gbenga Ogunbote.

Idris Guda Mohammed, Wikki Tourist

On the occasion of his birthday, Guda put on a show in Bauchi as Wikki Tourist ended the run of Lobi Stars in a highly competitive encounter.

Idris Guda Mohammed scored a first-half brace to help the Tourist end Lobi's six-match unbeaten run following a 2-1 win.

Guda's second of the day came from a spot kick, four minutes after Abba Umar's outstanding effort had equalised for the Pride of Benue.

Mustapha Ibrahim Yuga, Plateau United

It was an emotional day for Ibrahim Yuga as Plateau United kept to their promise against the regional rivals El Kanemi Warriors.

Yuga came back to haunt his former team as the Tin City boys had promised to annihilate the Warriors ahead of the regional derby and delivered on their promise following an excellent 5-0 win at the New Jos Stadium.

United's win was inspired by the talented star, who assisted the first two goals for his side before he scored one to make it 3-0 in a blistering opening 27 minutes.

Yuga refused to celebrate his goal as a sign of respect to his former club and teammates but he had already done the damage for the Jos side managed by Fidelis Ilechukwu.

Team of the week

This is an easy pick, with Plateau United the worthy winner following a remarkable performance against El Kanemi Warriors. United warned their visitors ahead of the game and walked the talk.

In what was a regional derby, the Tin Boys produced a performance of quality to utterly blow away the Warriors in a one-sided affair.

Inspired by former Warrior, Yuga, Ilechukwu's Tin Boys put up a five-star performance that is now the biggest win of the eight-week old 2023 NPFL season.
