NPFL newbies Sporting Lagos are facing immediate demotion to the second division after a shocking defeat at home to Plateau United.

Sporting Lagos, the NPFL newcomers, are facing an immediate demotion to the second division after a shocking first defeat at home to Plateau United.

The team's new manager, Abdullahi Biffo, was brought in to save the Tech Boys from the drop, but his efforts have fallen short with two games left in the season.

Sporting Lagos Disappointing Home Display

After letting a two-goal lead slip in their previous match against Bayelsa United, Sporting Lagos were expected to bounce back at home against Plateau United.

However, a shocking first-half display saw the home team go into the break 2-0 down and looking doomed.

Jonathan Alukwu has scored 11 goals this season but they may not be enough to save Sporting Lagos.

A late consolation goal by Jonathan Alukwu, also known as "Barbie Boy," was not enough to salvage any meanful result.

Fans Vent Frustration

The result has left Sporting Lagos fans visibly angry as they now face the prospect of demotion to the NNL.

The club sits 17th in the NPFL standings, just one point from safety with two matches left in the season.

Fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment, with some comments suggesting that the team's players are not up to par for the top flight.

Abdullahi Biffo has now been responsible for Sporting Lagos' heaviest and first home defeats in the NPFL.

NPFL Standings: Uphill Battle Ahead

With two matches remaining, Biffo will need a miracle to keep Sporting Lagos in the NPFL.

The team faces tough opponents in Enyimba and Shooting Stars, and the fans' faith in the team's ability to avoid the drop is waning.

The incredible Enyimba star Ikenne Cooper.

As the season nears its conclusion, Sporting Lagos' fight for survival has become increasingly uphill, leaving their supporters anxious about the team's immediate future in the top division.
