As is customary in Nigeria's top division, four teams must drop to the second division at the end of the season, due to having the worst performances.
Ogunbote unhappy with Shooting Stars finish
Speaking after his team's final match of the season, the gaffer expressed unhappiness that the targeted goals of the team were not achieved.
“The first thing is to apologise to the supporters because much was expected from us," Ogunbote said after the tie in Ibadan.
“We seem to have it, but unfortunately, when the season started, we couldn’t replicate what we had in the pre-season, due to some challenges in the form of distractions, which did not allow the team to perform the way we expected.
“On behalf of the team, I want to apologise for that," he added.
