Barcelona return to form at Mallorca
The Blaugrana had an eight-point lead in LALIGA, but now risk going two points behind Real Madrid should Los Blancos win their outstanding games, following their dismal run in November.
In three consecutive games, Hansi Flick's side lost twice and drew once (Real Sociedad and Las Palmas inflicting the defeat, while Celta held them to a draw).
Their first game in December, however, Barcelona were convincing 5-1 victors, beating Mallorca 5-1 at the typically daunting Son Moix.
What Flick said
“In the first half we had many chances and we scored, but they equalised us. We are happy,” Flick told reporters after the game.
“Scoring is very important for us. We created many chances but we missed them (vs Las Palmas). This time, I am happy to have scored five goals.
“I had already warned that I was happy because this November s*** is over and December has now begun.”
